A tragic incident occurred at PNC Park during Wednesday’s game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs, where a fan fell over 20 feet from the right field bleachers onto the field. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the fan is currently in critical condition, as confirmed by Pittsburgh Police.
The Pirates released a statement saying the fall happened during the seventh inning, and the injured man was promptly assisted by EMS personnel, team trainers, and stadium staff. He was quickly transported to Allegheny General Hospital. The team added that no further details were available at the time but expressed their thoughts and prayers for the individual and his family.

The accident occurred shortly after Andrew McCutchen hit a double that gave the Pirates a 4-3 lead. The fan fell over the 21-foot-high Clemente Wall in right field and landed on the warning track. Emergency personnel attended to him for about five minutes before he was taken off the field on a cart.
McCutchen later addressed the incident on social media, offering heartfelt thoughts and prayers. He expressed sadness over the event and encouraged others to keep the fan and his loved ones in their thoughts.
The Pirates went on to win the game, improving their record to 12-19 and ending a three-game losing streak. The series concludes with a Thursday afternoon matchup.
