Kansas State has offered a football scholarship to 2027 running back Javian Jones-Priest from Arlington, Texas, as announced on his social media.
Jones-Priest had an outstanding sophomore season at Martin High School, rushing for 1,162 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns.
In his post, Jones-Priest mentioned that while he’s received multiple scholarship offers, this one from Kansas State marks his first from a Power 4 program. Other schools that have extended offers include the University of Texas at El Paso, Sacramento State, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and North Texas.
At 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Jones-Priest boasts impressive speed, claiming to have run the 100 meters in 10.49 seconds and the 200 meters in 21.64 seconds. These times highlight his remarkable blend of size and speed, which could be a major asset for Kansas State if he decides to join their program.
While Kansas State expects star running backs Dylan Edwards and Joe Jackson to lead the charge in the upcoming season, the addition of transfer Antonio Martin Jr. provides more depth.
The team, however, still faces concerns about depth and durability as they look ahead to the 2025 season.
Kansas State’s previous starting running back, D.J. Giddens, was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft after rushing for over 1,200 yards in each of the past two seasons and scoring 23 touchdowns.
Despite strong expectations heading into the season, Kansas State finished with a 9–4 overall record, ending with a thrilling 44–41 victory over Rutgers in their bowl game.
