Colorado women’s basketball has secured its second transfer addition for the upcoming season with the commitment of Zyanna Walker, a standout guard from Kansas State.
Walker spent the past two seasons with the Wildcats, where she averaged 7.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists across 70 games. With two years of eligibility remaining, she brings valuable experience and a strong presence to Colorado’s backcourt.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Zy to the Buff family,” head coach JR Payne shared. “She’s a tough, seasoned competitor who adds depth, energy, and defensive strength to our team. I’ve admired her game for years and can’t wait to see her in Black & Gold.”

A native of Wichita, Kansas, Walker started all 36 games last season and earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team, racking up 58 steals, 25 blocks, and 122 assists. She finished eighth in the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.88) and had multiple standout games, including a near triple-double (13 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists vs. Milwaukee).
Walker, a former four-star recruit, began her collegiate career at Louisville before transferring to Kansas State. She was named the 2022 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 25.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 5.1 steals her senior year at Wichita Heights High School. Now, she brings that pedigree and production to a rising Colorado squad for 2025-26.
