A two-time national champion at Montverde Academy, Sotell’s brother Lukas plays for Maryland’s men’s basketball team. In her senior year at Montverde, she contributed to a 24-4 record and helped the team secure a third-place finish in the MaxPreps national rankings.

Amidst a roster stacked with future Power-4 talent, she ranked as the fourth-leading scorer and was tied for second in steals, hitting 37.4% of her three-point attempts.

Before Montverde, Sotell starred at Stamford High School in Connecticut, earning all-state and First Team All-FCIAC honors as a sophomore.

She led Stamford in scoring, assists, and steals in her final season, guiding the team to the second round of the CIAC Class LL Girls Basketball Championships. She also competed in AAU basketball with the Miami Suns, Empire State Basketball Club, and New York Gauchos.

Sotell joins fellow offseason transfers Jayla Smith, Lisa Thompson, Sydney Mains, Shannon Dowell, Jordana Reisma, and Saniah Tyler in strengthening the Missouri Tigers’ roster.
