Recruiting Shake-Up: Huskies Lose Another Three-Star Wide Receiver as BYU Steal Three-Star Wideout

UW Football to host nation's No. 1 athlete on official visit

The BYU football program scored a significant recruiting victory on Monday when three-star wide receiver Terrance Saryon flipped his commitment from Washington to the Cougars. Saryon had initially pledged to the Huskies in November but changed course following an official visit to BYU. He still has a visit scheduled with Washington on June 20.

BREAKING: BYU has landed a commitment from Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen receiver Terrance Saryon, flipping him from Washington,” announced Brandon Huffman.

Several factors influenced Saryon’s decision. He believes he fits well in BYU’s offensive system and feels confident he can contribute early under receivers coach Fesi Sitake. Saryon said his visit to BYU felt natural—“like home.”

Rated as the No. 892 overall prospect and the No. 10 player in Washington for the 2026 class by 247Sports, Saryon brings plenty of upside despite his three-star status. He attends Evergreen High School in Vancouver and originally committed to his in-state program, Washington, before flipping to BYU.

Saryon has gained attention this offseason, standing out at events like the Under Armour Camp and Oregon’s Saturday Night Live showcase. He’s projected as a slot receiver in college but has experience playing outside receiver and running back. His quickness, agility, and reliable hands make him a versatile threat.

While he’s not known for elite top-end speed, Saryon has solid short-area burst, is elusive in the open field, and has the skill to contribute on special teams and gadget plays.

With Saryon’s commitment, BYU now ranks 33rd in the 2026 recruiting class, with eight total pledges—two four-star and six three-star players. Landing a talent like Saryon and flipping him from a Pac-12 rival like Washington is a notable win for BYU and adds momentum to their recruiting efforts.
