The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Jordan Walker on the 10-day injured list due to inflammation in his left wrist, with the move retroactive to Thursday.
In his absence, Ryan Vilade has been called up from Triple-A Memphis to fill the roster spot.
Walker, who didn’t participate in batting practice before Friday’s matchup against the Rangers, was replaced in right field by Alec Burleson for the second straight game on Saturday.

Over his last 14 games, Walker hit .300 with a .792 OPS and 11 RBIs, though he holds a .215 average with three home runs and 23 RBIs across 47 games this season.
Additionally, the Cardinals optioned reliever Gordon Graceffo to Memphis and brought up right-hander Roddery Muñoz.
