High-Impact Addition: Giants Sign Another New Orleans Saint Standout Performer to Three-Year Contract Worth $54M

The Giants’ most significant free-agent signing this offseason was landing cornerback Paulson Adebo, formerly of the New Orleans Saints. Adebo agreed to a three-year, $54 million contract, making him a central figure in the Giants’ revamped secondary.

A major concern heading into free agency was the broken leg Adebo sustained midway through the 2024 season, which many thought would negatively impact his market. However, the 25-year-old still secured \$34.75 million guaranteed at signing. One key reason Adebo chose New York was the organization’s strong belief in his ability to recover faster than other teams expected.

“The Giants were ahead of the curve,” said Adebo’s agent, Ryan Tollner, in an interview with NJ.com’s Ryan Novozinsky. “They had confidence in his recovery right from the start.”

Shortly after inking the deal, Adebo expressed optimism about returning in time for OTAs — a goal that has become a reality, as he’s been participating in spring practices.

Other teams projected a much longer recovery timeline, but the Giants’ faith in his quick return seems to be paying off. If he stays healthy through training camp, Adebo will carry high expectations into his first season in New York.

Adebo started all four seasons in New Orleans, amassing 10 interceptions and 43 pass breakups, including double-digit deflections in each of the past two years.

Now, the Stanford alum is expected to lead the Giants’ secondary alongside fellow newcomer Jevon Holland, as the team looks to replicate its top-10 ranking in pass defense from last season.

The Giants’ gamble on Adebo’s recovery could prove to be a defining move of their offseason.
