Major Addition: Kansas State lands another big-time commitment from West Plains offensive force

West Plains offensive tackle Keegan Collins officially announced on Monday that he has verbally committed to play football at Kansas State University, marking a significant milestone for both the athlete and his high school.

Collins becomes the first football player from West Plains to pledge to a Division I college program, a historic accomplishment for the school and a proud moment for the surrounding community.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound junior revealed his decision on social media platform X, where he expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who supported him along the way. “First and foremost, I want to thank God, my Family, and my Coaches for helping me along this journey of mine,” Collins posted.

“I’m blessed to announce that I have committed to @KStateFB. RECRUITMENT IS 100% SHUT DOWN.” His message underscored the weight of his decision and the sense of finality as he looks forward to joining the Wildcats.

Collins played a central role in West Plains’ highly successful 2024 football season, anchoring an offensive line that helped the team rack up an impressive 2,916 rushing yards and 3,616 passing yards.

The Wolfpack finished with 86 total touchdowns and made a deep playoff run that culminated in a state semifinal appearance.

His consistent dominance on the field earned him a 97% player grade, as well as honors that included a spot on the 2nd team TSWA All-State and the prestigious THSCA Super Elite team.

Head coach Adam Cummings praised Collins not just for his performance, but for his poise throughout the recruiting process.

“We are really proud of Keegan and how he has handled this whole recruiting process,” Cummings said in a message. “There was a lot of pressure and it was a big decision for him and his family.

We’re so excited about his future. K-State got them a phenomenal player, but an even better person.” His coach’s words reflect the high character and leadership that Collins brought to the West Plains program.

As he prepares for his senior season and future at K-State, Collins carries with him the hopes and pride of a program and community eager to see one of their own succeed at the next level.
