Blackhawks Make Noise Again: Chicago Blackhawks Add More Firepower with the Signing of Accomplished Veteran to a Two-Year Agreement

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed 22-year-old goaltender Stanislav Berezhnoy to a two-year, entry-level contract through the 2026–27 season, following an impressive showing in Russia’s Supreme Hockey League (VHL) during the 2024–25 season, where he recorded a 12-10-2 record, a stellar .928 save percentage, a 2.50 goals-against average, and one shutout in 27 regular-season games, along with a solid playoff performance and a brief appearance in the KHL.

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 218 pounds, Berezhnoy has totaled 54 VHL appearances since 2022, posting a .918 save percentage and three shutouts, while also excelling in the Junior Hockey League (MHL), where he amassed a 48-24-4 career record with 10 shutouts and a .920 save percentage across 92 games with Omskie Yastrby.

Despite going undrafted, the Novokuznetsk native has built a reputation as a poised and reliable netminder, making three playoff runs in the MHL and now earning his first NHL opportunity with Chicago.
