Chicago Blackhawks Make Statement Signing: Blackhawks Double Down on Future Success with the Signing of Top Prospect to Multi-Year Entry-Level Agreement

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Anton Frondell to a three-year, entry-level contract through the 2027-28 season, carrying a $975,000 salary cap hit.

At just 18, Frondell impressed during the 2024–25 season with Djurgårdens IF in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan, putting up 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 29 games and earning Rookie of the Year honors.

He was instrumental in leading the team to a league championship and promotion to the SHL, adding seven points (3G, 4A) in 16 qualification games.

Frondell also played 10 games with Djurgårdens IF J20, posting 7 points (5G, 2A). Over the past two seasons, he recorded 26 points in 38 games at the pro level and 46 points (23G, 23A) in 39 J20 contests.

As a 16-year-old in 2023–24, he led Djurgårdens J20 in goals, assists, and points.

Internationally, the Trångsund native helped Team Sweden secure silver at the 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship, contributing a goal and two assists in five games.

The Blackhawks selected Frondell 3rd overall in the 2025 NHL Draft.
