On June 4, 2025, in Seattle, Mariners outfielder Dylan Moore was photographed during an at-bat against the Baltimore Orioles at T-Mobile Park.
Just days later, the Texas Rangers signed the versatile veteran to a minor league deal, according to The Athletic. The move came after Seattle released Moore on Sunday, officially ending his seven-year run with the club and giving him the chance to stay within the AL West division.
Moore, who captured a utility Gold Glove last season, has built a reputation as one of the league’s most flexible defenders, capable of playing nearly every position on the field. This year alone, the 33-year-old appeared in 30 games in the outfield, 28 at second base, 16 at first base, 16 at third, and six at shortstop—making catcher the only spot he’s never covered in his career.
While his glove remains elite, Moore struggled offensively in 2025. He batted just .193 with a .263 OBP, tallying nine homers, 19 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases—a decline from 2024, when he hit .201 with a .320 OBP, 10 home runs, 42 RBIs, and 32 steals.
Across his career, Moore owns a .205 batting average and .310 OBP, with 61 home runs, 192 RBIs, and 116 stolen bases through 671 major league games.
