As part of a potential deal sending a young forward to the Edmonton Oilers, the Chicago Blackhawks are expected to receive veteran forward Mattias Janmark, along with draft picks, according to a recent trade proposal from Heavy Sports.
Janmark, 31, is no stranger to Chicago fans. He played for the Blackhawks during the 2020–21 season, appearing in 41 games and recording 10 goals and 9 assists before being dealt to the Vegas Golden Knights at the trade deadline.
Since then, he has carved out a reputation as a steady, versatile bottom-six forward who can contribute on both ends of the ice.
Most recently with the Oilers, Janmark recorded 4 goals and 13 assists in 71 games last season while averaging over 14 minutes of ice time. Known for his defensive reliability and penalty-killing ability, he would provide valuable leadership to a young Blackhawks team still in the middle of a rebuild.
