Season-Ending Injury
Missouri quarterback Sam Horn has undergone surgery to repair a fractured right tibia, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Doctors expect the two-sport standout—drafted in the 17th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers—to make a full recovery.

How the Injury Happened
Horn was hurt on the first play of the Tigers’ 61–6 season-opening win over Central Arkansas on Aug. 28.
Baseball Background
The 22-year-old also missed last football season recovering from Tommy John surgery. As a right-handed pitcher, he posted a 0–1 record with a 4.22 ERA in five games last year, striking out 14 batters over 10 2/3 innings. He later signed with the Dodgers for just under $500,000, with the understanding he’d play football this season before reporting to the team.
Next Man Up
In Horn’s absence, Penn State transfer Beau Pribula has led Missouri to a 2–0 start, completing 53 of 67 passes for 617 yards and five touchdowns. The Tigers face Louisiana on Saturday in Columbia.
Coach’s Praise
“Beau is really cool, calm, collected,” head coach Eli Drinkwitz said. “In the biggest moments, in the toughest times … nails.”
