Texas Rangers Shock Baseball World, Snagging Mets’ $54 Million Five-Time All-Star in Blockbuster Move That Instantly Transform Their ……>>>

The Texas Rangers are making a late push for an American League Wild Card berth, but the odds of reaching the 2025 postseason are growing slim.

That reality allows the front office to shift its focus toward the upcoming offseason and the moves needed to build another championship-ready roster.

According to Fansided’s Jake Elman, the Rangers could make a headline-grabbing addition this winter.

He predicts Texas will emerge as the leading destination for five-time All-Star first baseman Pete Alonso of the New York Mets.

A Familiar Target From Queens

Elman points out that the Rangers “already stole Jacob deGrom away from the Mets, so why not double up and bring Alonso to Texas?” He praises the Rangers’ willingness to spend big and compete, noting that their aggressive approach helped them capture the 2023 World Series title.

He also suggests that many other MLB clubs — not only small-market teams such as the Pirates, Marlins, and Rays — could learn from Texas’s winning blueprint.

Alonso’s Impressive 2025 Numbers

This season, Alonso is hitting .270/.344/.520/.865, has launched 36 home runs, and driven in 119 RBI.

Those numbers represent a massive power upgrade compared with current Rangers first baseman Jake Burger, who is batting just .243 with 16 homers.

A Potential Game-Changer for Texas

For the Rangers, Alonso’s presence would provide the cleanup power they’ve been missing — no current Texas hitter has topped 21 home runs this year.

His ability to clear the bases and deliver clutch hits could instantly transform the lineup.

If the Rangers seriously pursue Alonso, they could move from just missing the playoffs in 2025 to legitimate World Series contenders once again in 2026.
