The New York Giants have added reinforcements to their banged-up secondary, signing former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Myles Purchase to the practice squad on Tuesday.
Purchase, 22, spent his college career at Iowa State and entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Chargers after the 2025 NFL Draft. The 5-foot-9, 203-pound defensive back was released from Los Angeles’ practice squad three weeks ago before landing with New York.
The Giants’ cornerback group has been hit hard by injuries. High-priced offseason signing Paulson Adebo has now missed five straight games due to a knee issue, and the team may soon be forced to place him on injured reserve. Deonte Banks was also sidelined last week with a hip injury, and reserve corner Art Green went on IR earlier this season.
Before bringing in Purchase, the Giants didn’t have a single cornerback on their practice squad—making this addition a necessary depth move as the team looks to stabilize the position.
