Gamecocks Add Firepower: Another Four-Star QB Commits to South Carolina’s 2026 Class

The South Carolina Gamecocks have received a major boost to their 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth from Jackson, Alabama. Duckworth, ranked No. 10 among quarterbacks in the Class of 2026, officially pledged to South Carolina on Thursday, adding a high-profile signal-caller to a class already loaded with talent.

Duckworth’s recruitment has been a rollercoaster. He initially committed to South Carolina in 2023, later decommitted to explore other opportunities in 2024, and after a highly competitive recruiting process, ultimately reaffirmed his commitment to the Gamecocks. Programs such as LSU, Auburn, Alabama State, and Appalachian State were all in contention to land him, but South Carolina secured the top spot on his list.

This addition gives the Gamecocks a potential future starting quarterback who brings both athleticism and leadership to the program. Duckworth is a Navy All-American and an Elite 11 finalist, known for his strong arm, accuracy, and ability to make plays both in the pocket and on the run.

Head coach Shane Beamer has been aggressive in building the 2026 class, which now features 15 signees, including standout offensive linemen, defensive backs, and versatile athletes. Duckworth’s commitment not only strengthens the quarterback room but also signals USC’s ability to compete nationally for elite recruits.

With Duckworth now on board, the Gamecocks continue to solidify one of the top 25 recruiting classes in the country, adding depth, talent, and potential impact players across the roster. Fans can look forward to seeing how he fits into the team’s system and prepares to make an immediate impact once he enrolls in 2026.
