MAJOR-BOOST: Jackson High School Offensive Line Standout Signs With Missouri to Play College Football

Jackson High School’s highly regarded offensive lineman Brysen Wessell made his college plans official on Thursday, signing with the University of Missouri and taking the next step in what has already been an impressive athletic career.

Wessell, a key force behind Jackson’s 12–1 season, anchored the Indians’ offensive front from the tackle position and consistently stood out as one of the most reliable and physically dominant players on the field. Coaches praised his technique, strength, and leadership—attributes that made him a natural priority for several college programs.

At Missouri, Wessell said he expects to transition from tackle to center, a move that aligns with how the Tigers envision his long-term fit. It’s a path similar to that of former Jackson star Connor Tollison, who currently holds the starting center role as a senior for Mizzou. That connection, Wessell noted, made the opportunity even more meaningful.

Off the football field, Wessell is already shifting gears into wrestling season, where he has earned recognition for his intensity and success on the mat. Coaches at Jackson describe him as one of the school’s most versatile and hard-working athletes, excelling in both sports at a high level.

Wessell’s signing marks another significant milestone for Jackson High School’s athletic program, reinforcing its growing reputation for producing college-level talent.
