BREAKING: Mizzou Kicks Off Big Class with Commitment from Top-30 Quarterback

The Missouri Tigers have officially opened their 2027 recruiting class in style, landing a major commitment at the most important position in football. Braylen Warren, a three-star quarterback from Omaha, Nebraska, announced on Thursday that he will be joining Mizzou, choosing the Tigers over offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Florida State, and several other programs.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 200 pounds, Warren has been a standout at the high school level and had made multiple visits to Columbia over the past year. His decision to commit to Missouri was influenced heavily by his connection with the coaching staff, particularly offensive coordinator Kirby Moore, who has been praised by Warren for his honesty, energy, and dedication to player development.

“He is very energetic and honest. I like how he tells you the truth always and just wants what’s best for the kids…He likes my arm talent and my ability to make plays when I need to. I’m really interested in their program. I mean they are SEC, always the best competition, and it’s a type of place to build myself as a person and player and make me the best person I can be,” Warren said.

As a junior, Warren threw for 1,847 yards with 27 touchdowns and only six interceptions, while also rushing for 288 yards, showing versatility and playmaking ability. Currently rated as a three-star recruit, he is ranked No. 29 nationally among quarterbacks, and many analysts expect his ranking to rise with a strong senior season.

What landing three-star QB Braylen Warren means for Mizzou

This commitment is a significant win for Missouri, as it secures a highly talented signal-caller at the start of the 2027 cycle. Quarterback is widely regarded as the most pivotal position in football, and landing a top-30 prospect immediately boosts the Tigers’ recruiting momentum. With Warren in the fold, Mizzou now has a cornerstone for their offense and a player who could develop into a future SEC standout.

Recruiting experts also note that Warren’s decision reflects the strong relationships the Tigers’ staff has been building and the program’s growing appeal to top talent in the Midwest and beyond. His commitment could have a ripple effect, attracting other high-profile recruits to Columbia as the 2027 class continues to take shape.

With National Signing Day wrapped up, Missouri has gotten off to a hot start in 2027, and securing Braylen Warren sets a high bar for the rest of the recruiting class. Tigers fans can be excited not just for Warren’s talent on the field, but also for the signal he sends about Missouri’s ability to compete for elite recruits in the SEC.
