Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula has decided to reconsider his plans to enter the transfer portal and will return to lead the Tigers as the starting quarterback in the Gator Bowl against No. 20 Virginia on Dec. 27.
Pribula, who transferred to Missouri last season from Penn State, had initially entered the transfer portal after being blocked by returning starter Drew Allar. During the 2025 season, he helped the No. 25 Tigers reach a 6-1 start before suffering a dislocated ankle in a 17-10 loss to Vanderbilt in late October. He later returned to play in a 17-6 loss to Oklahoma and a 31-17 win over Arkansas, finishing the season with 1,941 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and an additional 297 rushing yards with six scores on the ground.
Freshman Matt Zollers, who had started in Pribula’s absence during two games, will step aside for the bowl game as Pribula reassumes his role. The Tigers’ coaching staff, led by Eli Drinkwitz, expressed support for Pribula’s decision, emphasizing the importance of experience and leadership heading into a high-stakes postseason matchup.
Missouri will rely on Pribula’s skill and familiarity with the offense as they face a tough Virginia team, aiming to close the season on a high note and showcase the quarterback’s impact on the program.
This decision also provides clarity for Missouri’s roster and recruiting plans, ensuring continuity at the most critical position as the Tigers prepare for the Gator Bowl.
