Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB Draft, Otto developed within the Yankees’ farm system before becoming part of a high-profile 2021 trade. He was one of four prospects sent to the Texas Rangers in exchange for outfielder Joey Gallo and reliever Joely Rodríguez, a deal that generated significant attention at the time.
