BOOST: Alabama Defensive Lineman Accepts Senior Bowl Invite, Cleared for Rose Bowl Return

Alabama football’s senior defensive lineman LT Overton has taken a significant step toward the next level, officially accepting an invitation to compete in the annual Panini Senior Bowl later this winter.

Overton is also expected to be back on the field for the Crimson Tide when they face Indiana in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. The veteran defender missed Alabama’s final two games due to illness, but recent reports indicate he has been medically cleared to play. Earlier in the week, head coach Kalen DeBoer noted that Overton had not been ruled out, and his return now appears imminent.

The Senior Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 31 in Mobile, Alabama, will provide Overton with a prime opportunity to elevate his NFL draft stock in front of league scouts and executives. His acceptance of the invite suggests he is already preparing for the transition to the professional level following his collegiate career.

Before turning his attention fully to the draft process, Overton could still play a key role in Alabama’s postseason run. His return strengthens the Crimson Tide’s defensive front as they look to make a deep push in the College Football Playoff, beginning with the Rose Bowl matchup against Indiana.
