Kansas State experienced a mix of developments on the transfer front Friday, receiving encouraging news alongside more roster losses.
Sophomore defensive back Donovan McIntosh has decided to withdraw from the transfer portal and remain with the Wildcats after initially announcing his intention to leave earlier this month. The 6-foot-3, 194-pound St. Louis native confirmed he is “staying home” and will continue his career at Kansas State under new head coach Collin Klein.
McIntosh’s decision follows the hiring of Jordan Peterson as defensive coordinator, a move that appeared to influence his change of heart. He previously shared a positive message on social media after the coaching hire was finalized. During the 2025 season, McIntosh recorded 33 tackles and one interception, and the new staff successfully convinced him to stay in Manhattan.

While McIntosh’s return provides a boost to the secondary, Kansas State is also bracing for additional departures. Defensive end Chiddi Obiazor plans to enter the transfer portal when it officially opens on January 2, according to his representatives. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound lineman totaled 28 tackles and two sacks last season.
Obiazor joins fellow defensive lineman Malcom Alcorn-Crowder, who announced his exit earlier in the week. Defensive back Daniel Cobbs, who finished the season with 39 tackles, has also indicated he will transfer.
Overall, the Wildcats have now seen nearly 20 players enter the transfer portal over the past month, marking a significant roster turnover as the program transitions into a new coaching era.
