Missouri has officially made its first addition in the 2026 transfer portal, landing Oregon transfer Jahlil Florence, a former four-star cornerback and top-100 recruit, according to Cody Goodwin and 247Sports. The 6-foot-1 defensive back spent the last four years with the Ducks and brings two years of eligibility to the Tigers.
Florence Fills Major Cornerback Void
After losing much of their cornerback room to graduations and transfers, head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff had an urgent need for reinforcements at the position. Securing Florence as the team’s first portal commitment directly addresses one of Missouri’s most pressing roster needs.

Oregon Career and Background
Florence’s time at Oregon was limited. He redshirted in 2024 following a knee injury and appeared in just one game in 2025. Before joining the Ducks, Florence was heavily recruited, with offers from programs including Michigan and USC, ultimately signing with Oregon.
Over his collegiate career, Florence has recorded 35 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions, including a notable pick off current NFL quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
Looking Ahead for Missouri
While Florence is a strong start to the portal, Missouri still likely needs two or three more cornerbacks. The Tigers have several player visits planned over the coming week, and additional commitments are expected to follow as the portal window progresses.
