🏈 ECU Secures Miami Four-Star WR, Adding Power Five Experience and Explosive Playmaking

East Carolina University has officially added Ray Ray Joseph, a four-star wide receiver out of Miami Edison High School and former University of Miami standout, to its football roster. Joseph brings Power Five experience and proven playmaking ability to the Pirates’ offense and special teams.

Joseph, a highly regarded recruit from the Class of 2023, originally committed to Miami after flipping from Clemson. During his time with the Hurricanes, he contributed both as a wide receiver and return specialist, logging 14 career catches while showing explosiveness in the return game.

By joining ECU, Joseph immediately bolsters the Pirates’ skill-position depth and provides a proven playmaker who can make an impact in the passing game and on special teams. His experience at a Power Five program gives ECU a versatile weapon with the knowledge of competing at the highest collegiate level.

“This is a big addition for our program,” said Head Coach Blake Harrell. “Ray Ray is a talented, versatile athlete who will help us immediately. He brings speed, hands, and experience, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Pirate family.”

With Joseph’s addition, ECU continues its aggressive offseason strategy of combining top high school talent with experienced transfers to strengthen its 2026 roster. The Pirates are aiming to build a dynamic offense capable of competing at the highest level in the American Athletic Conference.

As the 2026 season approaches, Joseph’s arrival is expected to make an immediate impact, giving ECU a player capable of game-changing plays both through the air and in the return game.
