Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz has confirmed that the Tigers’ starting quarterback for the 2026 season could come from the transfer portal following the departure of Beau Pribula to Virginia.
To fill the gap, Missouri has added Nick Evers, a former UConn quarterback with previous experience at Oklahoma, to compete for the starting role. Evers brings Power Five experience and a career total of 1,023 passing yards with six touchdown passes, giving the Tigers a seasoned option at the position.
Pribula had a productive 2025 season despite an ankle injury, throwing for nearly 2,000 yards and completing 67 percent of his passes over 10 games. His departure left a significant void, making the transfer portal addition a critical move for Missouri’s offense.

Under Drinkwitz, who recently signed a contract extension, Missouri finished 8-5 last season, including a Gator Bowl loss to Virginia. The Tigers now turn their attention to the 2026 campaign, with non-conference matchups against Kansas and Troy providing an early test for Evers and the reloaded quarterback room.
