Kansas State has extended its recruiting pipeline with Mill Valley High School, announcing the commitment of offensive playmaker Blake Jay as a preferred walk-on. The 6-foot, 175-pound athlete will join the Wildcats under first-year head coach Collin Klein.
Jay spent the majority of his senior season at quarterback but is expected to play a different role at Kansas State. He will be listed as an athlete, giving the coaching staff flexibility to evaluate him at multiple positions once he arrives in Manhattan.
During his final season at Mill Valley, Jay completed 55 of 104 passes for 862 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,531 yards and 24 touchdowns on 177 carries, demonstrating his versatility and dynamic skill set.

Kansas State’s interest in Jay highlights the strong relationship the program has maintained with Mill Valley head coach Joel Applebee’s program over the past decade. The Wildcats have successfully recruited several players from the school during that time.
Jay joins a growing list of Mill Valley alumni to play at Kansas State, following in the footsteps of former Jaguars Sam Hecht, Gus Hawkins, Mikey Bergeron, Chris Tennant and others, continuing the tradition of local talent contributing to the Wildcats’ roster.
