JUST-IN: South Carolina Adds Mill Valley Standout to Roster as Preferred Walk-On

South Carolina has officially added offensive standout from Mill Valley High School to its roster as a preferred walk-on under head coach Shane Beamer. The 6-foot, 175-pound athlete is expected to bring versatility and playmaking ability to the Gamecocks’ offense.

Blake Jay spent most of his senior season at quarterback, completing 55 of 104 passes for 862 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,531 yards and 24 touchdowns, showcasing the dynamic skill set that makes him a promising addition to South Carolina’s program.

Although he primarily played quarterback in high school, Jay will be listed as an athlete with the Gamecocks, giving the coaching staff flexibility to use him at multiple offensive positions. His speed, agility, and versatility provide depth and options for South Carolina’s offense heading into the 2026 season.
