The Washington Huskies have officially secured the top-ranked wide receiver from Oklahoma, adding a major weapon to their 2026 roster. Kearney’s arrival gives head coach Jedd Fisch a potential WR1 to lead a young and inexperienced receiver room.
Zion Kearney, a former four-star recruit, spent two seasons at Oklahoma but saw limited playing time, finishing with just 10 career receptions. Frustrated by a crowded depth chart and seeking more opportunity, he entered the transfer portal to find a program where he could showcase his talent.
Washington quickly emerged as a leading option, and Kearney has committed to the Huskies. Fisch said, “Kearney is a talented playmaker with the potential to make an immediate impact. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Huskies and can’t wait to see him on the field.”

Kearney had also explored other schools, including Toledo, Wisconsin, and North Texas, before choosing Washington. His decision gives the Huskies a high-upside athlete capable of contributing right away while also helping to develop younger receivers.
With Kearney officially on board, Washington enters the 2026 season with a new offensive weapon poised to make a difference in the passing game. Huskies fans now have reason to be excited about the future of the wide receiver position as the team looks to compete at the top of the Pac-12.
