JUST-IN: Jedd Fisch Finally Lands the Portal Void Commit Washington Has Been Desperate For

Washington has been aggressively pursuing high-upside, cost-effective wide receivers in the transfer portal this offseason, but head coach Jedd Fisch had repeatedly come up empty. Whether due to playing time concerns, NIL considerations, or uncertainty around Demond Williams Jr., the Huskies were missing a key X receiver to replace Denzel Boston. That search appears to be over.

Washington has landed Christian Moss, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver who spent two seasons at Kennesaw State after beginning his college career at Virginia Tech. Moss caught 45 passes for 689 yards and two touchdowns as a junior last year, showing the production and experience Washington has been lacking. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Originally a 3-star recruit, Moss had a modest redshirt freshman season at Virginia Tech before transferring to Kennesaw State. His first year with the Owls was limited, catching 14 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns, but he exploded in his junior season, doubling his output and emerging as the X-factor in Kennesaw State’s passing game. Had those numbers been mirrored at Washington last season, he would have ranked just behind Boston.

Moss brings veteran experience to a receiver room largely made up of first- and second-year players. His addition fills the crucial X receiver role, allowing Fisch to now focus on addressing other roster needs without the intense scrutiny that came from the Huskies’ WR depth concerns.

This signing marks a major win for Washington as they continue to build a competitive receiving corps for the upcoming season.
