South Carolina has officially added another piece to its roster through the transfer portal, confirming the addition of tight end as the Gamecocks continue to build depth ahead of the upcoming season.
A former in-state prospect, brings experience from multiple programs. He began his collegiate career at Appalachian State, where he appeared in 133 offensive snaps and recorded one reception. While his involvement in the passing game was limited, he gained valuable experience in a physical offensive system.
Max Drag
Prior to the 2025 season, Drag entered the transfer portal and transferred to UCF. With the Knights, he carved out a larger role, particularly as a blocker. He was on the field for 143 rushing plays, ran routes on 48 snaps, and finished the season with three catches for 19 yards. His usage highlighted his strength as a blocking tight end while still providing a reliable option in short-yardage passing situations.

Now headed to South Carolina, Drag adds depth and versatility to the tight end room. His ability to contribute in the run game and his familiarity with different offensive schemes give the Gamecocks another dependable option as they prepare for the season.
