Love-Taylor Heads to East Carolina
The Miami Hurricanes will part ways with Devontay Love-Taylor, who spent the past season as Director of Player Personnel. He is set to take over as general manager for the East Carolina Pirates. Before Miami, Love-Taylor made a name for himself at Arizona State Sun Devils as Director of Scouting. He helped assemble roster pieces that led to Big 12 success, including the recruitment of Sacramento State transfer running back Cam Skattebo in 2023. His talent evaluation and roster-building skills quickly elevated his profile in the sport.
Key Contributor to Miami’s Success
Joining Miami in 2024 as Assistant Director of Player Personnel, Love-Taylor earned a promotion to Director of Player Personnel in 2025. He played a pivotal role in constructing the Hurricanes’ roster that reached the College Football Playoff National Championship this past season. From Player to Rising Executive
A former offensive lineman, Love-Taylor played high school football at Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, Florida, before joining the FIU Panthers in the 2016 recruiting class. After four seasons, he transferred to Florida State Seminoles in 2020, earning Honorable Mention All-ACC recognition in 2021. His rapid ascent into a GM role reflects his skill, work ethic, and rising stature in college football.
