Philadelphia Phillies Weigh Blockbuster Move: Phillies Confirm The Replacement of Alec Bohm for a Two-Time All-Star For $10.2 million to Reshape Their Lineup**

The Philadelphia Phillies didn’t make any splashy additions this offseason to significantly alter their roster. Their most notable move was bringing back Kyle Schwarber, largely keeping last year’s core intact—though arguably with fewer standout pieces.

That’s why some believe a bold change is necessary. Fansided’s Christopher Kline has suggested the Phillies move on from All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm, either by trading for two-time All-Star Isaac Paredes or promoting top prospect Aidan Miller to take over at third base.

Kline acknowledged that Bohm, currently projected to bat cleanup, is unlikely to be dealt before Opening Day. Still, he argued it could be the right long-term decision. Philadelphia’s postseason struggles in recent years have raised concerns about the current core, and Bohm’s track record in clutch moments has drawn scrutiny. With Bohm entering the final year of his contract, this may be the team’s last real opportunity to gain value in a trade.

As potential replacements, the Phillies could elevate Miller and hope his well-rounded skill set translates immediately at the major league level. Alternatively, they could pursue Paredes, who stands out as a clear trade target.

Statistically, Bohm hit .287/.331/.409 with 18 doubles, 11 home runs, and 59 RBIs in 120 games last season. Paredes, meanwhile, posted a .253/.352/.458 line with 15 doubles, 20 home runs, and 53 RBIs, offering more power and multiple years of team control. Bohm, by contrast, is set to hit free agency after the season.

If the Phillies want to avoid repeating last year’s outcome, making a decisive upgrade like this might be the spark they need.
