The Kansas City Chiefs have a proven track record of drafting standout talent from events like the Senior Bowl, and it’s always exciting when a player with regional ties emerges as a potential fit.
One such prospect could be part of their 2026 rookie class.
Kevin Coleman’s college journey took him across multiple programs over four years, but he capped it off with a strong senior season at Missouri.
Combined with an impressive pre-draft showing, he’s gained momentum just weeks before the 2026 NFL Draft.

At Missouri’s pro day—attended by all 32 NFL teams—Coleman turned heads by running a 4.38-second 40-yard dash, improving on his 4.49 time from the NFL Scouting Combine.
According to reporter Aaron Wilson, a visit with the Chiefs could also be on the horizon.
Coleman’s path has been anything but typical. He began at Jackson State, choosing to play under Deion Sanders alongside stars like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, before transferring to Louisville in 2023, Mississippi State in 2024, and finally Missouri.

Last season, he recorded 66 receptions for 732 yards and one touchdown.
For Kansas City, Coleman could be an intriguing Day 3 option, especially as the team looks to replenish its wide receiver group after offseason departures.
At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, he primarily plays in the slot but has experience lining up outside. Despite his frequent moves, he’s consistently adapted quickly and earned playing time at each stop.
His special teams ability as a punt returner could be key to making the Chiefs’ roster, and his speed, reliable hands, and versatility strengthen his case.
With changes in the receiver room—including departures and contract situations—there’s a clear opportunity for rookies to step in and contribute both immediately and in the future.
