Kansas State men’s basketball has seen its first departure of the spring as sophomore forward Stephen Osei enters the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound forward, who redshirted most of last season, appeared in just three games for the Wildcats after transferring from Casper College in Wyoming.
Osei scored a season-high two points against Mississippi State and played a season-high five minutes versus UNC Greensboro, spending the rest of his season on the bench while preserving a year of eligibility.
Early Exit Signals Roster Shake-Up
Osei’s decision to leave Manhattan is the first of many expected this spring. The Wildcats, coming off a 20-loss season that flirted with a last-place finish in the Big 12, anticipate several roster departures when the transfer portal opens on April 7, signaling the need for a talent infusion at Bramlage Coliseum.

New Leadership, Fresh Faces
Kansas State is also adjusting to a new era under head coach Casey Alexander, who was recently hired to replace Jerome Tang.

Currently, the only confirmed Wildcats for next season are incoming freshmen Jaylen Alexander and Devin Hutcherson, both of whom previously committed to Alexander at Belmont.
Looking Ahead
While Osei’s departure was not unexpected, it marks the start of a significant offseason overhaul for K-State as the program looks to rebuild and improve under new leadership.
