Kansas State has officially added another piece to its 2027 recruiting class, securing a commitment from Snellville, Georgia safety Julian Elzey.
Fast-Rising Recruitment Turns Into Commitment
Elzey’s decision comes shortly after his unofficial visit to Manhattan, where the experience clearly left a strong impression. Following conversations with head coach Collin Klein, he even considered speeding up his original July commitment timeline—ultimately leading to this quick decision.

What started as a relatively recent recruitment quickly turned into a full sprint, with K-State offering him in January and aggressively building the relationship from there.
Wildcats Staff Seal the Deal
The Wildcats’ coaching staff played a major role in landing the talented defensive back. Linebackers coach Nick Toth helped identify Elzey early in the process, while safeties coach Jeremiah Johnson was instrumental in closing the recruitment.
Their efforts, combined with Elzey’s positive visit experience, helped K-State win out in a highly competitive battle.

Beating Out a Loaded Offer List
Elzey didn’t lack options. He held offers from several major programs across the country, including Auburn, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Wisconsin, along with numerous other Power Five and Group of Five schools.
Despite strong interest elsewhere—including planned visits—Kansas State ultimately made the strongest impression.
Building the 2027 Class
With Elzey’s commitment, Kansas State now has four players locked in for its 2027 class. He becomes the third defensive addition, joining cornerback Nazir Pitchford and defensive lineman Dawayne Jones. Offensive lineman Canaan Smith remains the lone offensive commitment so far, as the Wildcats continue to shape a defense-heavy early class.
