The New York Mets will officially retire Carlos Beltrán’s number 15 in a pregame ceremony at Citi Field prior to their matchup with the Phillies on Saturday, September 19.
Beltrán will also be inducted into the team Hall of Fame, giving the former outfielder a dedicated day to celebrate his career and contributions to the franchise.

Originally, Beltrán was set to enter the Mets Hall of Fame alongside Bobby Valentine and Lee Mazzilli.
However, after his election to the Baseball Hall of Fame, the team altered their plans, ensuring that one of the franchise’s greatest position players would have a ceremony focused solely on him.

Beltrán ranks among the Mets’ all-time leaders in numerous categories: third in WAR (31.2), fourth in OPS (.869), sixth in OBP (.369) and SLG (.500), seventh in home runs (149), doubles (208), and RBIs (559), and tenth in walks (449) and runs scored (551).
He earned five All-Star selections, two Silver Slugger awards, and three consecutive Gold Gloves from 2006-2008, while finishing fourth in NL MVP voting during the 2006 season.
