The Texas Rangers reinstated pitcher Cole Winn from the 15-day injured list on Thursday.
To clear a roster spot, they placed pitcher Danny Coulombe on the 15-day IL with left shoulder fatigue, retroactive to September 1.
Winn last pitched for the Rangers on August 19, surrendering two runs to Kansas City in a 5-2 defeat.
He recently made a rehab outing with Round Rock on Tuesday, tossing a scoreless inning.
In 31 innings for Texas this season, he owns a 1.45 ERA, a 3.95 FIP, and a 3.88 xERA.
Coulombe, acquired at the trade deadline from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for 2024 sixth-round pick Garrett Horn, looked like a strong addition.
He had posted a 1.16 ERA and 2.01 FIP in 31 innings across 40 appearances for Minnesota, and from 2022–24 carried a 2.41 ERA and 2.96 FIP over 93 innings.
Since joining Texas, however, the left-hander has struggled, giving up seven runs across his last six outings (3.2 innings).
One low point came on August 15 in Toronto, when he allowed three hits without recording an out in the eighth inning.

The Rangers, who led 5-2, ultimately saw Coulombe and Phil Maton combine to give up four runs in what became a 6-5 loss.
Coulombe’s most recent appearance was August 26, when he surrendered three runs, including two homers, in the ninth inning of a 7-3 win over the Angels.
Because IL stints can only be backdated three days, his placement made on September 4 was retroactive to September 1. As a result, he will be eligible to return on September 16 at the earliest.
