The Kansas State Wildcats have pulled off a major recruiting win for their 2026 football class, landing Ramzak Fruean, one of the top linebacker prospects in the region. The 6‑foot‑4, 215-pound standout from Bethel High School in Spanaway, WA officially committed to K-State after reopening his recruitment following a previous commitment to UCLA.
Fruean’s recruitment shifted dramatically after coaching changes at UCLA earlier this season. Once the Wildcats entered the mix, they quickly established a strong connection, ultimately convincing Fruean to head to Manhattan, Kansas, where his versatility and fearless play are expected to make an immediate impact on K-State’s defense.
During his senior season at Bethel, Fruean earned co-player of the year honors in the 4A South Puget Sound League south division. He recorded 62 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six sacks, and three interceptions, while also contributing on offense with 24 catches for 625 yards and seven touchdowns. His ability to play multiple positions — linebacker, safety, and occasional edge rusher — makes him a unique asset for the Wildcats’ defensive front.
Fruean is expected to start primarily at linebacker while also seeing time in a hybrid safety role, leveraging the versatility he showcased at Bethel. His combination of size, athleticism, and relentless style fits perfectly with K-State’s aggressive, physical defensive identity.
Wildcats head coach Collin Klein praised the signing: “Ramzak is a fearless competitor who brings versatility and leadership. He’s exactly the type of player who can make an immediate impact and strengthen our defense from day one.”
With this commitment, Kansas State not only secures a top regional talent but also gains a player ready to contribute immediately, boosting the Wildcats’ defensive depth and helping set the stage for a competitive 2026 season.
