The Missouri Tigers are looking to bolster their offense for the 2026 season as North Texas running back Caleb Hawkins has scheduled an official visit to the program during the NCAA transfer portal window.
Hawkins, a standout freshman at North Texas, rushed for 1,434 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2025 while adding 370 receiving yards and four scores, totaling 29 touchdowns — the most ever by a freshman in FBS history. His explosive production makes him one of the most highly sought-after running backs in this year’s portal class.
Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz, entering his fifth season at the helm, has emphasized using the transfer portal to bring in experienced players who can make an immediate impact. Hawkins’ visit will give the Tigers a chance to present their offensive scheme, role expectations, and team culture as part of their push to strengthen the backfield.
If Hawkins commits, he would provide Missouri with a dynamic, versatile offensive weapon, complementing running backs Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts, both already confirmed to return for the 2026 campaign. His combination of size, speed, and vision could make him a key contributor as the Tigers aim to compete in a challenging SEC schedule next season.
The transfer portal window opens January 2 and runs through mid-January, giving Missouri and other programs a narrow but critical timeframe to secure top-level talent like Hawkins.
A commitment from Hawkins could immediately elevate Missouri’s ground game, providing a proven scorer and adding depth to a backfield already boasting elite playmakers.
