BREAKING: Collin Klein Unites with Wildcats Pride to Take the Starting QB Role for 2026

Kansas State head coach Collin Klein will be reunited with his quarterback for the 2026 season, as the dual-threat signal-caller returns to Bill Snyder Family Stadium to reclaim the Wildcats’ starting quarterback role.

Klein, who originally recruited Avery Johnson out of Maize High School and previously served as K-State’s offensive coordinator, expressed excitement over their reunion. “I love him to death. He’s a centerpiece of this program, and having him back gives us the leadership and stability we need at quarterback,” Klein said.

The quarterback, a Wichita native, shared on social media:
“There’s unfinished business here, and I’m not done yet. This program, this place, and our fans mean everything to me. I believe in this team, our coaches, and that the best is still ahead.”

Last season, he threw for 2,385 yards and 18 touchdowns, adding 477 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, helping Kansas State achieve bowl eligibility. His return gives him the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy, chasing career passing yard and touchdown records in purple and white.

With Klein and Johnson back together, the Wildcats aim to build on last season’s foundation and compete at the top of the Big 12 in 2026. Stability at quarterback and leadership on offense position K-State for a strong season under Klein’s guidance.
