Stone Furrey, a standout receiver from Dutch Fork High School and son of South Carolina receivers coach Mike Furrey, has officially committed to the Gamecocks, making a lifelong dream a reality. Furrey moved onto campus this week as he prepares to start classes and begin his collegiate football career under his father’s guidance.
“Stone Furrey has been around football his whole life, and I don’t think there’s a better coach than my dad,” he said. “And especially not a better coach than coach Beamer. USC has always held a special place in my heart—I’m truly blessed to continue my football career here.”
Stone began playing football in eighth grade and quickly became a dynamic playmaker through intensive offseason workouts with his father. Over his high school career, he totaled 93 receptions for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns, including a state championship with Dutch Fork in 2025. Furrey also ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash at USC camp this summer and earned selection to the Touchstone Energy Bowl all-star game.
The Gamecocks already boast a strong receiving corps, including Sequel Patterson from Indian Land and Oklahoma transfer Jayden Gibson, and Furrey’s arrival adds another explosive weapon while creating a unique father-son dynamic in the program.
Stone’s commitment highlights the power of family ties in college football and sets the stage for an exciting career at South Carolina.
