Kansas State continues to tap into the transfer portal, once again pulling talent from Big 12 rival Oklahoma State. New head coach Collin Klein has now added four former Cowboys to the roster, with the latest addition standing out as one of the most impactful yet.
Edge rusher Wendell Gregory, a 6-foot-3, 255-pound redshirt freshman, announced he will transfer to Kansas State for the upcoming season. Widely regarded as a top-25 prospect in this transfer cycle, Gregory arrives in Manhattan after posting 27 tackles and four sacks during his lone season at Oklahoma State.
Gregory originally began his college career at South Carolina, where he preserved his redshirt status while appearing in a limited number of games for the Gamecocks. His move to Kansas State comes as the Wildcats place a strong emphasis on reinforcing their defensive front through the portal.
The Wildcats have focused heavily on defensive line and edge depth in recent weeks, also securing a commitment from Junction City defensive end Jackson Hollie earlier this week. With significant losses in the front seven, Gregory is expected to have a chance to contribute immediately in 2026.
Gregory joins three other former Oklahoma State players who have already committed to Kansas State: long snapper Jaxson Duffield, running back Rodney Fields, and linebacker Jacobi Oliphant.
In total, Kansas State has now secured commitments from 22 incoming transfers this month, underscoring Klein’s aggressive approach to roster building as he reshapes the Wildcats through the transfer portal.
