MAJOR BREAKING:Missouri Lands 174-Tackle Linebacker and Five-Star, Top-10 Ole Miss Standout to Anchor Mizzou Defense

Missouri has pulled off one of its biggest transfer portal additions of the offseason, landing former Ole Miss linebacker to serve as a cornerstone of the Tigers’ defense ahead of the 2026 season.

TJ Dottery brings proven SEC production to Columbia after recording 174 total tackles over the past two seasons with the Rebels. He was the heartbeat of the Ole Miss defense in 2025, leading the team with 98 tackles while also posting 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and multiple pass breakups. His physical, downhill style consistently set the tone in the middle of the field.

A former five-star recruit and top-10 linebacker nationally out of high school, Dottery began his college career at Clemson before transferring to Ole Miss. After sitting out the 2023 season, he quickly emerged as a major contributor in 2024 with 76 tackles, then took another leap as a full-time starter in 2025. He capped his Rebels career with a standout performance in the College Football Playoff semifinal against Miami, finishing with 11 tackles, including a sack.

For Missouri, Dottery fills a critical need at linebacker following offseason turnover. His experience against elite SEC competition, combined with his leadership and instincts, positions him as an immediate impact player and a likely defensive leader for Mizzou.

Dottery’s commitment continues Missouri’s strong momentum in the transfer portal and signals the program’s intent to compete at a higher level in 2026. With a proven defensive anchor now in place, the Tigers take a major step toward building a tougher, more consistent defense.
