Jedd Fisch discussed the offseason situation surrounding Demond Williams Jr. during an appearance on the Andy and Ari show, explaining that he was confident Williams would return to the Washington Huskies even amid outside interest.
Fisch admitted that the revenue-sharing contract tied to the Big Ten Conference helped stabilize the situation but insisted it was not the only reason Williams decided to stay.

He added that Williams needed clarity about the team’s long-term plan and that other programs were trying to make him feel valued during the offseason, suggesting possible tampering activity.

While the contract helped Washington maintain leverage, Fisch emphasized that Williams’ return was also driven by the program’s overall vision and direction.
Fisch also praised the Big Ten revenue-sharing agreement for giving the team a stronger negotiating position when external interest was high. However, he stressed that the contract alone did not secure Williams’ return, as the quarterback also had to believe in the future success of the program.
Looking ahead, Williams is expected to demonstrate his commitment by performing well on the field and helping lead Washington toward a potential College Football Playoff push while fully embracing the team’s goals.
