Recently, a rumor surfaced from a prominent Big Blue Nation social media account suggesting that Kentucky could attempt to recruit Hannes Steinbach through the transfer portal this offseason.
The speculation seems unlikely since Steinbach is widely projected as a lottery pick in the National Basketball Association Draft and has given no sign he plans to do anything other than declare.
Still, the idea gained some traction because Kentucky is rumored to have one of the most expensive college basketball rosters this season, reportedly valued between $16 million and $22 million in NIL deals.
