Kansas State Building Recruiting Momentum
Kansas State head coach Collin Klein is wasting no time assembling a strong foundation for the program’s 2027 recruiting class.
The Wildcats have surged on the recruiting trail, showing urgency and consistency as they lock in top prospects well ahead of schedule.
Their latest addition highlights just how quickly things are coming together in Manhattan.
Wildcats Land Key Defensive Addition
On Wednesday, Kansas State added another important piece with the commitment of Anitoni Tahi, a 6-foot-2, 315-pound defensive lineman from Chandler, Arizona.
Tahi, a three-star recruit, chose the Wildcats over several notable programs, including Arizona State, Minnesota, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
His announcement stood out as much as his decision, as he celebrated in a vibrant ceremony at his high school, wearing a Hawaiian lei and clothing that honored his cultural roots and family heritage.
The moment reflected both his personality and the significance of his commitment.
Recruiting Surge Continues
Klein’s recent recruiting success has been nothing short of rapid-fire. Over the past two weeks, Kansas State has secured seven commitments, with four arriving in just the last four days.
This aggressive pace underscores the staff’s ability to identify targets and close deals quickly, giving the Wildcats early momentum in shaping their future roster.

A Growing 2027 Class
With Tahi’s addition, Kansas State’s 2027 class now features 11 total commitments. The group includes a mix of talent across multiple positions: offensive linemen Jack Clayborne and Canaan Smith; defensive backs Julian Elzey and Nazir Pitchford; tight end Ben Hynek; defensive linemen Dawayne Jones and Tahi; quarterback Cameron Kruse; linebackers Colton McComb and Giacamo SanFilippo; and wide receiver David Rushing.
This balanced class reflects a clear strategy to build depth across the board while securing key contributors on both sides of the ball.
National and Conference Standing
The Wildcats’ early recruiting efforts are already earning recognition. As of Wednesday evening, recruiting service On3 ranked Kansas State’s 2027 class No. 40 nationally and No. 3 within the Big 12. While rankings will continue to evolve, the early positioning signals a promising trajectory for Klein and his staff.
Looking Ahead
With momentum firmly on their side, Kansas State appears far from finished. If the current pace continues, the Wildcats could further climb the rankings and solidify one of the more impressive recruiting classes in the conference.
Klein’s ability to maintain this energy will be key as the program looks to translate recruiting success into future results on the field.
