Another Mizzo Exit: Top Missouri Infielder Shocks Program with Surprise Transfer Portal Exit After Two Seasons as Tigers Lose Key Infield Piece Ahead of Offseason Reset

After the 2026 season ended with Missouri’s exit from the SEC Tournament, the program saw infielder Chris Patterson announce he is entering the NCAA transfer portal following two years with the team.

Patterson shared the decision on Sunday, calling it one of the hardest choices of his baseball career as he looks for new opportunities to continue his development.

In a statement posted to X, he expressed gratitude to his faith, the University of Missouri, his teammates, family, and supporters, saying each played a key role in his journey and growth as a student-athlete and person.
