After the 2026 season ended with Missouri’s exit from the SEC Tournament, the program saw infielder Chris Patterson announce he is entering the NCAA transfer portal following two years with the team.
Patterson shared the decision on Sunday, calling it one of the hardest choices of his baseball career as he looks for new opportunities to continue his development.
In a statement posted to X, he expressed gratitude to his faith, the University of Missouri, his teammates, family, and supporters, saying each played a key role in his journey and growth as a student-athlete and person.

On the field, Patterson appeared in 59 games with 54 starts over two seasons, batting .234 with 44 hits, 32 RBIs, and 4 home runs while also showing improvement defensively each year.

He now departs Missouri with plans to continue his college baseball career elsewhere after a steady but developing stint in Columbia.
