The Cincinnati Reds have a rising power bat in 21-year-old Sal Stewart, a former first-round pick.

After tearing up Double-A with Chattanooga, Stewart was promoted at the All-Star break to Triple-A Louisville, where he’s been even better—posting a 1.052 OPS with nine home runs in just 33 games.

With Cincinnati’s offense sputtering—ranking second-worst in MLB for wRC+ during August—it’s fair to wonder why Stewart hasn’t yet been called up.

With roster expansions set for September 1, though, he could be in line for a debut if the Reds don’t bring him up sooner.
