Missouri is searching for a new offensive coordinator following Kirby Moore’s departure to become head coach at Washington State. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is reportedly turning his attention to the Big Ten, with Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey emerging as a leading candidate, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Lindsey spent the past season overseeing Michigan’s offense and quarterbacks, helping the Wolverines rank among the Big Ten’s top rushing attacks. Before his time in Ann Arbor, he held offensive coordinator roles at North Carolina and UCF and previously served three seasons as the head coach at Troy.
Drinkwitz has emphasized the importance of experience in his next offensive coordinator, noting that first-time play-callers have had limited success in the SEC. Whoever fills the role will be tasked with improving Missouri’s passing attack, which struggled last season, while building around a strong returning ground game led by standout running back Ahmad Hardy.
