JUST-IN: 4-Star Quarterback Sione Kaho Gives Florida Gators a Reason to Smile for 2027 Class with Bold Statement

The Florida Gators received a timely recruiting lift as 4-star quarterback Sione Kaho publicly clarified his strong interest in the program, giving fans optimism about the direction of the 2027 recruiting class under new leadership.

Kaho, a standout from Lincoln High School in Washington, is ranked as the No. 16 quarterback nationally in the 2027 class by 247Sports. Widely regarded as one of the top young signal-callers in the country, Kaho has drawn attention from several Power Five programs, including Oregon, Cal, and Stanford. Despite the competition, Florida has emerged as a school firmly on his radar.

The talented quarterback has spoken highly of Florida’s offensive vision and overall program structure since the arrival of head coach Jon Sumrall, whose leadership has already begun reshaping the Gators’ identity. Kaho’s conversations with the coaching staff have centered on quarterback development, offensive flexibility, and how Florida plans to build around the position moving forward.

Kaho has made multiple visits to Gainesville, where he attended games, met extensively with the coaching staff, and broke down film. Those visits helped strengthen his relationship with the program and gave him a clearer picture of how he could fit into Florida’s offense at the next level.

Physically, Kaho checks every box college programs look for in a quarterback. He currently stands at approximately 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds and describes himself as a composed game manager who can become a playmaker in critical moments. While he avoids direct comparisons, Kaho has cited Drake Maye and C.J. Stroud as quarterbacks he studies, borrowing elements of their game to refine his own style.

Kaho has also indicated that he is targeting a commitment decision in June, though he acknowledged that recruiting timelines can shift as the process evolves. His comments suggest Florida will remain a serious contender as that decision approaches.

For the Gators, Kaho’s clear interest represents an encouraging sign early in the Jon Sumrall era. Landing a quarterback of his caliber would be a major statement for Florida’s 2027 class and reinforce the program’s ability to compete nationally for elite talent.

As recruiting momentum continues to build, Florida fans will be watching closely to see whether Kaho’s growing connection with the program ultimately leads to a long-term commitment under center.
